Density, not dilution

High potency - our root cause

The best nutrition comes from food in its purest form, the way Turbo Tonics is made. And the numbers add up.

27%Cold-pressed turmeric juice
Around 220g of fresh Fijian turmeric root goes into every 500ml TT bottle, cold-pressed, not dried.
30mgCurcuminoids per serve
That's in every 50ml dose, as tested and verified by government agency Callaghan Innovation.
ZeroAdded water
TT is a concentrate ... just juice. Nothing has been watered down, which is why each bottle makes three litres.
FiveFresh ingredients
Turmeric, lime, ginger, honey and black pepper - that's it. No cane sugar, no flavourings, no added colour.

Turbo Tonic is a food, not a medicine. We describe what is in the bottle and leave the rest to you and your GP.

Our philosophy

Made for people who read the label.

Turbo Tonic is not a sugary soft drink or a brand invented to exploit the wellness sector. It is a concentrated tonic created to maximise the many benefits of turmeric while tasting delicious.

Read the whole label
  1. It's all about concentration

You add the water, not us. Each 500ml bottle makes at least three litres, so you're paying for our five key ingredients, not water.

  2. Fresh-pressed, never from powder

Whole, fresh turmeric and ginger roots go through the press to make Turbo Tonic. No rehydrated or reconstituted powders. Just juice.

  3. The whole food, not an extract

Extracts provide minimal benefits, as much of the plant is discarded. We press whole roots to get the best results - not the easiest or cheapest way, but the most effective.

  4. The combination is the point

Turmeric, black pepper, ginger, lime and raw honey work brilliantly together. They optimise curcumin absoption and taste great, too.

  5. Small batches, by hand

Pressed, blended and bottled in Matakana by a small team of artisan makers and TT devotees.

In their own words

The devotees can say it better than we can.

56 written reviews came back when we asked the regulars. Here are a few, unedited beyond a trim.

We bought it for the health benefits, but we love it for the taste. A shot in hot water as a night time tonic is hard to beat.
Adam
A morning game-changer. Zingy ginger with a fresh lime kick that tastes so good. I am not shy to say I am addicted.
Kay · Wellington
I find it hard to start the day without it now. I drink it as a shot, and love the flavour hit.
Julie · Titirangi
TT is my sunshine in a cup each day.
Melody
I LOVE Turbo Tonics. In every form. A shot, with a bit of still, or with loads of sparkling. Nothing else compares.
Ella
It is the intensity of the flavours that keeps me purchasing. It's not till you have tasted it that you realise the quality of the ingredients in the bottle.
Sherry
I've tried kombucha, kefir, and one very questionable green juice, but you know when you've found the one. The zing of TT makes 'good for you' actually mean something.
Annette · Tāmaki Makaurau
It's become a staple in my fridge. Tastes amazing. Hardest part is only having the recommended daily dose.
Sarah · Whanganui
Best straight, or with added freshly squeezed citrus. A vibrant and gutsy boost to the day, and the long-lasting aftertaste is to be relished.
Rebecca · Mystery Creek
There are so many ways to enjoy it. My current favourite is to mix it with milk and Yakult, which makes a great turmeric lassi.
Chris · Whitianga
Healthy AND tasty! How can we resist? I look forward to my shot every morning.
Janaki and Jayant · Queenstown
I am 77 and I have a shot every morning, and so far no winter ills. My son, a builder, uses it daily now also.
Ruth · Cambridge
Keeps me well all winter, and I love that it's yummy both hot and cold.
Emma
Very soothing to drink with warm water on cold winter mornings.

A note from the maker

Cath Lewis - Founder & Owner

Turbo Tonic is made in Matakana by Cath Lewis, Chief Engineer, BSc Human Nutrition and Biochemistry. She and her small team press, blend and bottle every batch by hand. Smart women. Serious ingredients.

As founder and Chief Engineer of Turbo Tonics, Cath Lewis is a problem-solver, entrepreneur and passionate advocate for food as medicine. What began during Covid as community drop-offs and letterbox deliveries of her turmeric, ginger and lime tonic has since grown into something far bigger. Today, she runs a fully fledged bottling plant in Matakana, with Turbo Tonics now distributed nationwide. For Cath, the most rewarding part of the work is making something people find truly useful, a product they genuinely love and weave into their daily wellness routines. She is now focused on designing new products that are an expression of her deeply held belief that nutrient-dense whole foods have the power to transform health and wellbeing. Cath believes, “As functional food-and-drink producers, there is a responsibility to honour the trust invested by customers by delivering products with true nutritional integrity.” Beyond production, Cath is also committed to supporting the next generation of Kiwi entrepreneurs. She actively mentors young people, sharing practical lessons in business creation, product development and entrepreneurship.

★★★★★
Turbo Tonic has been a staple in our fridge for three years at least; there is always a bottle on the go. It's the perfect balance of sharpness without being too sour, and I love how it isn't sweet. It's my go-to gift when anyone is sick, and my Australian colleagues request a bottle whenever I visit.

★★★★★
I have been drinking Turbo Tonic since I took a shot of it at my friend's place, straight from her fridge. My daughters give me bottles for Christmas and Mother's Day, my husband drinks it now too, and I've become an online subscriber because it just disappears from our fridge.
Leigh
★★★★★
My favourite product we sell, and the easiest to sell, hands down. My parents receive regular deliveries comped by one of their four children, turn and turn about, and we're all equally addicted.

One 50 ml serve a day. Neat as a shot, or diluted in hot or cold water. When you're run-down, take it twice. A 500 ml bottle holds ten serves and makes at least three litres of drink.
